Tanya Barrett’s career took many twists and turns before she found her niche in real estate. She modelled for nine years, in Australia and overseas, gained a fine arts degree and held a fast-paced corporate job in international packaging.
It was the money-focused corporate job that convinced her that her skills would be better used in a more value driven occupation – real estate.
Over the past 20 years Tanya has refined the art of selling property, the negotiation and transactional side of the business coming naturally to her. Never wanting to be typecast she has made a point of handling every type of property giving equal care and attention to the sale of a studio as a $10 million luxury home.
It is the human element of real estate that Tanya finds most appealing, having the opportunity to work closely alongside clients to help them determine the next stage of their property journey. She’s mindful too of the need to guide clients through a process that is second nature to her but unfamiliar to many who may only have bought and sold property once or twice in their lifetime.
Ultimately, she believes success comes down to quality of service and Tanya has an acute understanding that her task is to deliver a result. It’s a philosophy that has stood her in good stead throughout her real estate career and has been crucial to her success in the highly competitive lower north shore market.
A desire for a lifestyle change saw Tanya follow the example of many of her north shore clientele and move to the Central Coast to establish a Richardson & Wrench presence specialising in suburbs including Norah Head, Bateau Bay and Budgewoi. Continuing to work with her lower north shore clients has created an opportunity to offer her clients a broader level of service and expertise. The close connections between the north shore market and the Central Coast has proved to be a real bonus for all her clients.
Moving to the coast whilst maintaining her Sydney real estate clients has allowed Tanya to pursue her love of outdoor sports, joining a local trail running club, and spending any spare time mountain biking and kayaking. The scenic coastal roads give her an opportunity to indulge another of her great loves – collecting and riding motorbikes.
